Get it to the water
At 25.5 kg the Heron 10 car-tops and carries with the moulded handles. Set it down at the shoreline clear of rocks.
- Use the bow, stern and side carry handles
- Check the scupper and drain plugs are fitted
- Launch in shallow, calm water
Seat and foot braces
Set the hi/low seat and slide the foot braces to your leg length before you paddle out.
- Choose the high seat for casting or low for stability
- Adjust the foot braces so knees are lightly bent
- Stow the paddle on the side clips when not in use
Rig the deck
Mount your gear on the groove tracks, drop rods in the flush holders and lower the rudder to hold your line.
- Add a fish finder or accessories to the tracks
- Use the rudder to hold position in wind
- Secure gear under the rear bungee tank-well
